The ancient astronaut theory

 

Here is the ancient alien idea almost complete. The background and all elements are colored but need some final shadowing and a few extra tweeks to do tomorow. 

Illustration project

  So, i been interested in the whole ancient aliens theory, and the series on the history channel. Its more science fiction than anything and is hardly an original topic (stargate, prometheus, etc). Also, i wanted to do some vector illustration and use illustrator for some more experience. I decided to do a funny illustration using suspected ancient alien artifacts from Peru, Japan and Sumer as reference for my design. So far i have sketched out the layout of the characters and illustrated the background and ship. I thought using vectors for backgrounds would be limiting, which it is, but there is other ways to create depth.

COLOURING AND CLEANUP!

I have finished animating my film!!!! And not for the final touches, which is cleaning up the animation, then colouring it in. Very tedious, and been working flat out not really been posting, trying to get the film complete! Music is also sounding brilliant as my sound tech student on my film Calum Smith has showed me! All backgrounds by Marissa Niamir are done 2 and looking stunning!

Ultimate Image

Here is my "ultimate image" an image that sums up my work. Took me along time as i hand drew the main character and then did the rest.

Title Card

Finished title card, Hand drew the font using "influence" from The Yogi Bear title card, to match the feel of the rest of the film. All it needs now is some music.

Finalised style and design

Havent been able to post much up latley as ive been keying out scenes and updating my final film animatic, however i do have a shot of my 2 characters on what will be a title card for my film once ive designed some text. The background is done by Marissa Niamir who is background artist for my film.

This is how the characters will look against the backgrounds. I had to try cleaning the rough poses of the characters out on flash to see how long it takes, turns out it takes ages.

Work in progress

Have been working on layouts and key framing scenes for my final film over the last 3 weeks. The layouts were designed to help with staging and also to pass over to Marissa who is background artist for the film, as instructions for the backgrounds. I handed each layout over 2 her complete with a roughed out BG and a key frame or 2 on each to show where action was happening. Now i am busy key framing scenes out and sould have an updated working animatic in a week which i can use to pitch my film to sound tech students, for sound effects. I will post the animatic when its complete.........

Night time designs!

Again i have simplified versions of theese shaded designs which i may use for time consuming pusposes of thees designs. Depending on how well my schedule works, will depend on how well i will colour my designs.

Some business card ideas for myself for the business side of third year. Designed a character to slightly resemble myself for a design and designed some font on flash. May change theese as time goes on.
